ABOUT ABOUT

This production of Waiting For Godot, put on by the ASU Theatre and Shakespeare Club as our Spring 2019 performance, is a student production of the Samuel Beckett play that will be presented the weekend of March 15th. This play is dedicated in loving memory to our previous ASU T&S Club President and dear friend, Courtney Marnick. As such, the theme of the play is grief, and moving on after tragedy. Estragon and Pozzo are personifications of Vladimir and Lucky's grief, respectively. For this production, Godot is life, and Vladimir is waiting for life to begin again, and for the grieving process to end; However, life cannot begin again until Vladimir lets go of the tight grip he has on his grief. We are thrilled to present this production, and hope you enjoy the profound themes as we attempt to express them as effectively as possible.
